Biography

As Interim Executive Director, Claire is responsible for managing all operations of NC LIVE. In addition to overseeing technical infrastructure, member library relations, training and collections, she also works with NC LIVE's member libraries, advisory committees, and Executive Committee to build a shared mission and vision for NC LIVE. Some of her responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with NC LIVE's four Communities of Interest
  • Managing NC LIVE staff, budget and assets
  • Serving as the liaison to the Resource Advisory Committee (RAC)
  • Reporting to the NC LIVE Executive Committee

Prior to coming to NC LIVE in 2016, Claire worked as Acquisitions Librarian at Tulane University Law Library, where she purchased new materials, managed subscriptions for print and electronic resources and oversaw the library’s budget. Before Tulane Law Library, Claire was the Reference and Instruction Librarian at Mary Baldwin College. In this position she provided research assistance and taught course-integrated instruction sessions to a wide variety of students including undergraduates, graduate students, adult degree and distance students.  Claire also served for a semester as Assistant Librarian on Semester at Sea, traveling around the world while providing library services to students and faculty aboard the MV Explorer ship. While earning a Master of Science in Library Science from UNC Chapel Hill, Claire worked for the Special Collections Research Center at NC State University Libraries and for the Undergraduate Library at UNC Chapel Hill. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Music from State University of New York at Geneseo.
