Public Libraries - Access Video on Demand vs. Films on Demand

It has come to our attention that when public library users access Films on Demand they are directed to the Access Video on Demand platform. After talking to Infobase, we confirmed that the streaming video content is the same on both platforms for all NC LIVE member libraries. The only difference is the platform interface. Academic library users access the content on the Films on Demand platform, and public library users access the content on the Access Video on Demand platform.

NC LIVE website and EZproxy scheduled downtime (July 2)

NC LIVE will be performing updates on our website and server infrastructure from 7am - 8am on July 2. 

During this time frame, the NC LIVE website, resource links (such as https://resources.nclive.org/abc-clio), and hosted EZproxy service will be unavailable or intermittently available. 

We will send an email once these website and infrastructure updates are completed. If you have any questions, please contact the NC LIVE Help Desk.

NC LIVE proxies- Downtime - June 25th, 7:00-7:30am

On Tuesday, June 25th, from 7:00 - 7:30am, NC LIVE will update our EZproxy instances to version 7.3. This may result in intermittent downtime for about 15 minutes for all EZproxy servers. The following systems will be affected:

  • EZproxy access for libraries using NC LIVE Hosted Proxy, barcode pattern matching and NC LIVE password 
  • NC LIVE links accessed remotely 

We will send out an email when the updates are complete.

Ebook Central Removals - June 2024

Twice a year, Ebook Central removes ebooks from their collection that they no longer have permission to carry. They perform these removals at the end of June and December. For added context, Ebook Central also adds content every year-- in 2023 they added 11,780 titles to Academic Complete.

Please contact the NC LIVE Help Desk for a list of 1,074 ebooks that will be removed from Academic Complete in June 2024.
